Submissions for Berlin Short 2018 will open mid August 2017.

The fourth Berlin Short Film Festival will run June 29 – July 3, 2017, and will show over 100 short films. The festival is open to any film in any genre under 50 minutes in length, and especially prioritises low-budget films of independent spirit and exciting new talent.

Submission specifications

We only accept digital submissions. We accept no hardcopy submissions. Submissions will be open via Withoutabox, FilmFreeway, Click, and Festhome.

Please upload your film using your submission platform’s secure screeners, or email us a link to your film along with your tracking number.

Entry Fees

Deadlines 2018:

– Early (ending October 30th, 2017)
– Regular (ending February 26th, 2018)
– Late (ending May 6th, 2018)

Fees for short films (between 5 and 50 minutes) are €40 early, €45 regular, €50 late.
Fees for short short films (under 5 minutes) and Music Videos are €30 early, €35 regular, €40 late.

Participants are urged to make available all requested publicity materials, BSFF festival photos as well as excerpts from selected films for promotional use prior to, during and for future editions of festivals.
